Rev. Dr. Rick Horst – Minister Rick joined St. Andrew’s staff in August 2004. Ordained in 1984, he served congregations in Toronto and St. Marys,Ontario. Rick earned a B. A. from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Divinity degree from KnoxCollege (Toronto), and a Doctor of Ministry degree from McCormick Seminary, (Chicago). Rick is married to the Rev. Karen Horst who is the senior minister of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Orillia. They have three children, seven grandchildren, a motorcycle, and a cat. Rick loves working with people as they discover the grace of God in their lives.
Alanna O’Hara – Program Coordinator Alanna became the program coordinator at St. Andrew’s in September 2014. Prior to joining St. Andrew’s, Alanna was a volunteer ChurchSchool teacher at a church in downtown Brantford, Ontario. Alanna graduated from McMasterUniversity (Hamilton) with an Honours B.A. in Anthropology in 2013. She is a recent graduate from LakeheadUniversity (Orillia campus), earning her B.Ed this past Spring 2014. Alanna has enjoyed getting to know the St. Andrew’s church family, and is excited about working together towards future events and activities. Alanna and her fiancé Andrew Haughton enjoy outdoor activities, crafts, and movies. Andrew, by the way, would love to have a motorcycle.
Chris Bohdanowicz – Musical Director Chris joined St Andrew Staff in September 1991. Since 1975, he served congregations in Toronto and played organ recitals. Chris graduated from St Michael’s Choir School in Toronto earning an ARCT in Organ Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. He holds a B.A. and a B. Ed from the University of Toronto. Chris is married and has two children, a motorcycle (faster than Rick’s) and a dog. Chris enjoys sharing his love of music with St Andrews choir and congregation.
Barb Drummond – Secretary: Barb has been the Secretary here at St. Andrew’s for the past seventeen years. Fulfilling her role in the church office while enjoying the camaraderie of the church family gives her a great sense of enjoyment. Barb has lived in Barrie all of her life and has one son, one daughter and two grandchildren. Barb does not have a motorcycle but she does have two cats that purr like one!
Russ Gingell – Custodian Russ joined St. Andrew’s back in 2004 after having met his wife, Kathryn, who was already a member of the congregation. He became the church’s custodian in the fall of 2013, and enjoys the people and the job very much. Russ has over 25 years of experience in building maintenance, repairs and other useful skills which he brings to the job every day. Russ goes out of his way to keep our facilities in tip-top shape!
