Nov
Being in Barrie since before Confederation (1849 to be exact; if you want to read more, check out our History page), St. Andrew’s has sent young men to war for generations. Each Sunday before Nov. 11, we recall these young lives cut too short.
As he plays and later as the names are read out in our service, we remember the young men – most in their 20s and early 30s – and the families they left behind: their mothers, their fathers and their siblings. We remember their hopes and dreams, interrupted by the declaration of war and their desire to give all they had to make the world more just and free.
